Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using Tax Portal Pro.
Effective: April 1, 2026 · Last updated: April 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Tax Portal Pro (operated by A.M.P.E.D. Baseball LLC, 8504 Firestone Blvd PMB 141, Downey, CA 90241). By accessing or using Tax Portal Pro, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, please don't use the service.
What Tax Portal Pro Is
Tax Portal Pro is a software platform that tax preparation firms use to run their practice online. Firms use it to manage clients, securely share documents, send invoices, schedule appointments, collect electronic signatures, and communicate with clients — all through branded portals their clients can access from any device.
Important: Tax Portal Pro is a technology platform, not a tax preparation firm. We provide the software tools — your tax preparer provides the expertise. We do not provide tax advice, legal advice, accounting services, or financial guidance. The tax preparation firm you work with is solely responsible for the accuracy, quality, and compliance of their work.
Your Account
When you create an account on Tax Portal Pro, you agree to the following responsibilities:
- Keep your credentials private — your password and login information are your responsibility. You're accountable for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Use accurate information — provide truthful, current, and complete information when you sign up. Don't impersonate others or use fake details.
- Report unauthorized access — if you suspect someone else has accessed your account, contact us immediately at support@taxportalpro.com
- Manage your team — if you're a firm owner, you're responsible for adding, removing, and assigning appropriate access levels to your team members
Text Messaging (SMS) Terms
By providing your phone number and opting in to receive text messages, you agree to receive service-related SMS messages from Tax Portal Pro. Messages may be sent using automated technology. The types of messages you may receive include:
- Verification codes — to confirm your identity when logging in or verifying your account
- Appointment reminders — so you're prepared for meetings with your tax preparer
- Document request notifications — when your preparer needs documents from you
- E-signature request links — when a document is ready for your electronic signature
Message frequency varies based on your account activity. During tax season you may receive several messages per week; outside of tax season you may receive none. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. You do not need to agree to receive texts in order to use Tax Portal Pro.
Managing your text messages:
- To stop: Reply STOP to any message. You'll receive a confirmation and no further texts will be sent.
- For help: Reply HELP or email support@taxportalpro.com
Text message delivery depends on your mobile carrier and network conditions. We cannot guarantee delivery of every message. We are not responsible for messages that are delayed or undelivered due to carrier issues, device settings, or network conditions beyond our control.
What You Agree Not to Do
To keep Tax Portal Pro safe and functional for everyone, you agree not to:
- Break the law — don't use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any federal, state, or local law
- Upload harmful content — don't upload viruses, malware, ransomware, or any other harmful files or code
- Access others' data — don't attempt to access, view, or download information belonging to other users, firms, or clients
- Send spam — don't use the messaging features to send unsolicited, bulk, or promotional messages outside of the intended tax preparation workflow
- Copy the software — don't reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform
- Share credentials — don't give your login information to unauthorized people or let others use your account
Payments and Billing
For firms: Subscriptions to Tax Portal Pro are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings or through Stripe's billing portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.
For clients: When you pay an invoice through the portal, that payment goes directly to your tax preparation firm's connected Stripe account. Tax Portal Pro facilitates the payment technology but is not a party to the financial transaction between you and your firm. Billing disputes should be directed to your firm first.
Service Availability
We work hard to keep Tax Portal Pro running smoothly and available whenever you need it, but we can't promise 100% uptime. Occasional maintenance, software updates, infrastructure changes, or circumstances beyond our control (like cloud provider outages) may cause brief interruptions. We'll do our best to give you advance notice of planned maintenance and to minimize unplanned downtime.
Who Owns What
Our platform: Tax Portal Pro, including its software, design, branding, and features, is the intellectual property of A.M.P.E.D. Baseball LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform.
Your data: You retain full ownership of all data, documents, and content you upload to the platform. By using Tax Portal Pro, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service. We won't use your content for any other purpose, and we won't claim ownership of it.
Limits on Our Responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tax Portal Pro (A.M.P.E.D. Baseball LLC) and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, but isn't limited to, lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or costs of procuring substitute services.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Ending Your Account
You can stop using Tax Portal Pro at any time. Firm owners can cancel their subscription from account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or pose a risk to other users or the platform's integrity.
After cancellation, firms can request an export of their data. We will retain data only as required by law or as needed to resolve disputes, after which it will be securely deleted. Data deletion timelines are described in our Privacy Policy.
Legal Details
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Tax Portal Pro after the updated Terms become effective means you accept them.
